I have been praying with beads for the last year, having made my own and purchased sturdier ones. I recently purchased the Red Tigers Eye (Matte)beads for a new emphasis on contemplative prayer in my life. Along with a cohort who covenant for 3 years of learning and teaching contemplative disciplines and practices. This begins for me in January, 2027. I pray withe beads every day, having developed my own system using the Revised Common Lectionary and the Collects from the Book of Common Prayer. A committed group of 4 join me weekly for our prayer together.

My new beads will be used daily for my 3 year covenant and my hope is that the daily use will season my soul and add a rich finish to the natte beads and pewter cross...A visible witness to my anticipated intimacy with God

Beautiful to look at with beads wonderfully soft to touch. My soul and this particular prayer bead rosary linked immediately. I am fond of this cross as well. The suggested prayers are very helpful to this new-be with anglican rosaries. I'm very grateful.

The beads are very pretty, but the description said that they would come in powdery soft and then turn into a dull shine, but it looks like it already came with a dull shine (as if it were used, not that it necessarily was). That is not a big deal, but what kind of bothers me is the cross. In the photo on the website, it looks matte, but when I actually got it, it has a gloss to it which I don't like because I don't think it goes well with the dull shine of the beads.

Louis, so sorry you are not satisfied with the Red Tiger Eye Matte. It is the case with matte finish, just setting the beads out on a beading tray, then stringing the beads and affixing and crimping the cross does bring the beads into contact with the beader's fingers. From one rosary to another, this human process may burnish the beads a little or a little more. Absolutely want to assure you we do not sell used rosaries.

That cross is just wonderful to look at and feel. It was designed and is cast by an artist in Kentucky. To ensure the finish plated on the cross does not show wear over time, the artist recommended we seal the cross with a lacquer-type coating. I then use a super fine sandpaper (it is so fine it feels like paper) to knock the sheen down. Your cross must have not been sanded enough.

Please return the rosary. I can either sand the cross to a duller finish, replace the cross with a non-coated one or, if you are really unhappy, refund your purchase. Just let me know what will work for you. (NOTE: The Red TIger Eye Matte beads will take on a less matte finish as you run the beads through your fingers - something between an eggshell and semi-gloss paint finish.)

Exactly like the pictures; beautiful. Carry it with me everywhere. Really appreciated the pamphlet with instructions and sample prayers.

The Red Tiger MATTE rosary is absolutely beautiful. It also has a very comforting feel to the beads. The cross is unique and matches the beads very well. Over time the beads will become redder and more brilliant. One can almost feel that the prayers said on the beads enliven them. A very nice rosary.

Joseph, that's the thing about matte beads: they do burnish up with use. We will look for more matte beads for new rosaries. Thank you. Cynthia
